£1,350.00
29er aluminium hardcore hardtail with RockShox Recon Silver RL 140mm fork, Shimano Deore 1 x 11 transmission and a dropper post
Merida may be one of the biggest manufacturers on the planet, but they know how to think global and act local.
The Big Trail was born out of conversations between a few UK bike shops and Rey the Merida MTB Product Manager
Over a few beers their wish list for a perfect UK trail bike was defined.
The modern trail bike geometry pairs a slack enduro inspired 65.5° head angle, steep seat angle, long reach and 140mm fork to deliver a fun confidence inspiring bike highly capable on technical descents.
The short seat tube delivers a very low standover height giving plenty of space to manoeuvre on the bike when the trail gets technical but still accommodates a long travel dropper post.
Rolling on chunky 29er wheels gives the Big Trail amazing cornering grip and plenty of comfort.
The geometry means most sizes work for most body sizes so riding style can be factored in, if you want to go crazy fast take the longer size, for agility take a shorter size.
The Big Trail has hidden talents, in addition to 2 sets of bottle bosses there’s a trail mount under the top tube giving the possibility to carry tools and extra gear on the bike. Despite the aggresive looks there’s even the possibility to fit mudguards and a rack if you want to trek further afield.
